Governors
Our school governors are Mr J Smith (Chair), Mr T Richford (Vice Chair), Mr L Sandwell, Mrs H Mulhern, Mrs H Holden, Ms Mowl, Mr H Palmer, Mrs C Lynn and Miss H Tudor.
The Governing Body meets every term at a formal minuted meeting. Our key role is threefold:
-
To ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
-
To hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.
-
To oversee the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
We work in partnership with the senior leadership team and all the dedicated staff, taking an active interest in the development plans for the school, as well as financial monitoring. We do not get involved in the day-to-day operation of the school, as this is the responsibility of the Headteacher, senior leaders and staff.
Governor pairs visit the school regularly to monitor school progress against planned actions on the School Development Plan, as well as to check safeguarding and the budget.
No Governor has declared they are a member of another governing body, are part of conflicting business interests or has a relative who is part of the NCPS staff.
If you would like to speak to the Chair regarding a complaint, please email: Jonathan Smith on: j.smith@newington-ramsgate.kent.sch.uk

Best regards
Mr Jonathan Smith
